Location and Regional Context
The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort facilities are located in the Spring Mountain Range in the Humboldt-Toiyabe Nation Forest. The resort is approximately 47 miles northwest of the city of Las Vegas. Access to the resort is via Highway 95 to Lee Canyon and Highway 156 to the resort. The ski area facilities include two double chairlifts, one triple chairlift and one surface lift, servicing eleven trails. The resort is situated at the 8,500-foot elevation and offers 762 feet of lift serviced vertical drop. The ski trails have limited snowmaking due to a shortage of available water storage. The area also offers limited skier services such as restaurant/bar, rental and retail shops. The resort also has a terrain park and half pipe. Winter activities currently are centered around skiing and snowboarding. Summer activities include hiking, camping and concerts and festivals.
