Phase 1 Base Area and Recreational Land Use Planning

The Overall Recreational Land Use Plan as shown on Figure 15 (JPG | PDF) , graphically illustrates the proposed overall special use permit area, winter and summer recreational activities, day skier parking areas, comfortable skier walking distances to skier staging portals, daylodge(s) and other recreational activity staging, skier service zones and maintenance areas. Also shown are primary and secondary roads, vehicle access and circulation routes, ski-way circulation and lift connections between parking, recreational activity areas and skier staging.

The existing highway alignment and roundabout at the top of the hill will remain to facilitate summer site seeing, Howitzer location for avalanche control, additional day use parking at peak use periods and service vehicle access to the new daylodge buildings and skier staging area at the bottom of Lifts 1 and 2. The overflow parking will be re-configured for efficient parking. The tubing park and winter snow play area are connected to the overflow parking area and the potential parking structure by a pedestrian pathway. Resort visitors utilizing the zip line activity zone will gain access via the new detachable quad chairlift (Lift 2). The "Mountain Coaster", located in the forested area between ski trails 1G and 2D, is a self contained activity with its own uphill conveyance system.
