Phase 2 Base Area Parking and Circulation

In order to supply adequate parking for the Phase 2 recreational facilities, we have proposed the construction of a central parking structure on the existing overflow parking lots. At build-out, this 3.5-level structure has a total capacity of approximately 1,670 cars, enough to accommodate all parking requirements for skiers, tubers, non skiing visitors and staff. The access roadway parking area would remain available should event parking requirements exceed the capacity of the new parking structure. Figure 26 (JPG | PDF) graphically illustrates the Phase 2 Parking and Circulation Plan.

Table IV.18 identifies on-site car and bus parking requirements for skiers/boarders, tubers, non skiing and tubing guests and resort operations staff for the Phase 2 resort development. A total of 1,970 car parking stalls and 6 bus parking stalls are required to meet guest and staff demand. The parking program assumes that there will be a shuttle bus service to transport employees from Las Vegas and other valley locations to and from the resort on a daily basis.

Table IV.19 summarizes the car and bus parking required for Phase 2 of development and the capacities of existing parking areas and the proposed parking structure. With the parking structure in place, remote parking lots and shuttles would only be used during special events.
